Our success can be summarized by one ingredient: people.
When co-founders Adam August & Nick Hicks started this cookie journey in 2019, they did so with no idea how to make cookies. It was a belief and a commitment to each other that gave them the confidence to start a cookie company with no experience and no cookies.
The first key piece was finding someone to create recipes. Enter
Chef Max Santiago. Chef Max instantly brought credibility, experience and delicious cookies (pretty important) to the company.
After connecting with Michael McGowan on a DoorDash referral call in 2020, Mike and Adam instantly developed a connection. They went on to do a collaboration between Michael’s former food concept and Blueprint. That collaboration turned into a partnership and Mike became a partner and COO.
Along with Mike came his even more talented (sorry Mike) wife,
Paloma Machado-McGowan. Her passion for branding and design made her the perfect person to lead our transformation into Blueprint Cookies. Paloma is now partner and CMO/CBO. Aside from Paloma’s impact on the brand, she has brought our company much-needed female leadership and has become a mentor and motivator for so many of the women in our company.
We believe we are the Blueprint for hospitality and how companies
should treat and support their team members.
After opening 3 stores in 3 years, it was time for Blueprint Cookies to scale, which meant franchising. Through the franchise research process, Adam connected with Joe Sexton. Joe has been in the franchise world for over 15 years. As Adam has done in the past, he saw Joe’s immense value. His alignment on values and his work ethic made it a no-brainer to bring Joe in as a partner and the President of Franchising.
This company is full of kind, creative, hard-working, and committed individuals - many of which have businesses of their own.
Our mission in building this company is to positively support and impact the lives of those who become part of Team Blueprint. So much of our success is attributed to the people working in our stores, and we wanted to highlight all the hard work our team member’s do outside of Blueprint - their own personal businesses.
